ARTISTIC MISSION

As a watercolor specialist, my art and teaching have produced principal themes of “Life on the Good Side”, “Rainpeople”, “Street Scenes” and “Animals” reflecting life and happy times within a wide range of subjects and techniques. Aspirations include a desire to lecture and teach in my field of art.

CREDENTIALS

Graduate of Richland, HS of Johnstown, PA; Bachelor of Science of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 1970. Teaching certification with tenure from Penn State University, 1974. Taught 18 years as the principal art instructor from the West Bloomfield Community Education system. Guest watercolor instructor at Chautauqua Institute of Arts in New York. Advanced artistic study with Muriel Fullmer, Rockwell plate artist for Hallmark; Paul Denis, Cleveland Institute of Art; Diane Boldman, Baycrafters Studio of Cleveland; Fred Leach, Head Designer at American Greetings; William Kufell, Master Portrait Artist. Workshops with Nita Engles and Tom Lynch, Celebrity Watercolor Artists. Currently teaching in Society of Decorative Painter conventions all over the United States and Canada.

Best of Show Awards at Northville Hills Exhibit; Art Over the Interstate; and Clarkston Art Festival. Received the Purchase Award at the East Jordan Portside Show, several Purchase Awards in the Petoskey Art in the Park Fair, and the Architectural Award at the Birmingham “Our Town” event. Featured Artist at the Huntington Woods Library Exhibit, 1995; Sponsor/promoter of the annual West Bloomfield Community Ed Student Art Exhibition, since1998; One Man Show plus invited lecturer/instructor exhibit, 1999. Best of Show award at Mt Clemens 2003. Best of Painting Award at Shelby 2004. Second place in Cheboygan 2005. Chosen for the Traveling Show in the Michigan Watercolor Society Exhibit 2006.
