More about Kathy Boltz Phillips published books...

Kathy Boltz Phillips has written, illustrated and self published two children’s books titled The Day the Electricity Went Out and Frederick Xcalibur. Both books tell a story with a positive message. Kathy has done many readings of children's books at various Elementary Schools and speaks about her profession as a watercolor artist.

The Day the Electricity Went Out is about a grandmother dealing with two children that no longer have their computer or tv because the electricity went out. So Kathy illustrated the four seasons to show the children how to go out and play.

The Frederick Xcalibur is a dragon book about a little boy named Nelson teaching the dragon how to work for his food instead of taking it. The Dragons name is Frederick Xcalibur so they come up with service called Fred X.

She was chosen as Author of the day at the Bellview Author Conference this year 2010. She spoke in two classes of elementary students specially chosen to attend the conference and two classes of junior high students which show an aptitude for writing. Kathy discussed the process she went through to get her books written, illustrated and published.
